This image has the five attributes that make it appeal to the eye.
Nearnees and farness, warmth, and cool, movement and rest, light and dark, softness and hardneess.

This unusual image was taken at about 5 .30 am during a thunderstrom.
You should look to early morning or late afternoon for better and more
dramatic light.
The image has a ''primitive'' style to it. Lights and darks, warmth and cool,
nearness and farness, movement and rest in addittion to softness and
hardness.

The same properties appear in this image as in the Maithland picture.
Da Vinci Vision gives you a formula to success.

Brisbane skyline: A stitched image from three frames : the moon was placed in the shot from a stock image taken at another time.

This image of the frangipani is perfect in colour.
This comes about by a three step procees.
1 Custom colour balance in camera.
2 Contast control in camera by lighting.
3 Correct exposure using " mamual" camera settings establihed via "e grey card ".
The e Grey card is avialable from this site. It is used as the basis of all the images on this site.
" HARRY".... not Leo A Classic portait.
One of my students taken by daylight. Same exposure technique used as in the image above.
Note, strong male pose with the head tipped to lower shoulder and the body and head facing the light sourse. This image has warmth in the face nd coolness in the shirt. Plus lightness in the hair and darkness in the background. In addittion nearness and faress are created by the doorway. Harry is at rest but give movement with the dynamics of the body. Softness in the
hair and hardness in the woodwork.

Vision: To see, seeing , to foretell. This image is our " cover shot " on our manual.
GRANDMA
A simple portrait of "Grandma" taken at a wedding. Simple flash above the camera with the exposure set on the flash set one stop above the ambient. This is the negative of most thinking. Here I am using the flash as the main light , not as a fill.
Wallyby Point

Visiting an old client near Taree in NSW.
This dawn shot was taken with a 17-50mm Tamron 2.8 Zoom
The composition is classic "golden section". The detail in the highlights and shadow is possible with just a little flash fill. This is a jpeg image.

Shadow and Shell.
Taken at the same beach a few minutes after the sunrise above. The shell was taken to the beach. A gold reflector was placed just to to illuminate the shell.
The white balance was on " daylight" to produce the warm effect.
The shadow was produced by the low angle of the sun.
The Cannas
Again on the same beach, these canna flowers were in full bloom. The saturated sky was produced by a Pola filter and the flowers were enhanced with a gold reflector.
This portrait was taken for 8Ball Atkins Posters . It has a dynamic line. You can almost hear the music which is in the tradition of Creedance Clearwater.

You can learn the basic elements that make a good image.
VISION is "seeing"
Vision is " to see"
Vision is " foretelling"
When you look through a camera lens, you are "seeing " the future".
When you push the button you freeze that one moment in a 1000 years.
Designing creative images takes place before the image is captured.
Capture is just the second step of the imaging science.
Control of the image processing is
the third step.
All images on this site were taken using the " e Card " and the "TRIflex"
as the basic tool for colour ,contrast and density control.
Composition is also an important
element of good imaging.
Da Vinci used a number of formula to attract and hold the attention. In addition ,by this geometric method, he could convey a deeper meaning to the viewer.
